Excellent location on the banks of the Mekong Rivet - it’s worth paying the extra for a river view room. Staff friendly and helpful. Good breakfast and nice swimming pool overlooking the river. I was pleased that I had booked for three nights as Chiang Khong is an interesting town with good promenade walks beside the river, several wats to visit and border town Thai life to observe. Also the hotel and its facilities are very quiet during the daytime (I had the swimming pool more or less to myself after breakfast until about 4 pm in the afternoon).

Room #606 - 4 x Night Stay - Booked via Hotels.com We always ask for room #606 The outside bath on the Balcony is my guilty Luxury!! Sit in the outside round bath, drink in hand watching the Mekong flow past and Thai & Laos fishermen fishing... Life does not get much better for me :) The rooms are great ample free space and each year they upgrade something in the rooms. The morning Breakfast is a sumptuous feast with a vast choice of Hot Thai foods plus and Egg station to cook eggs your choice and your way. Staff are always Fantastic - ask and you will get. Nothing is too much trouble here. We will be back again Cool Season 2025 2026

Most people coming to Chiang Khong are coming for one reason only! To cross into Laos and do a two night Mekhong Cruise to Luang Prabang in Laos. If not, dont come. If so, book a two night cruise stopping overnight in Pakbeng and stay a night. This is the finest €200 2 night cruise in the world! Believe me! This hotel overlooks the river, offers wonderful views, has excellent helpul staff and a super cool infinity pool overlooking the river. The town is as cute as a Thai town gets and its a rural idyll compared to even Chaing Rai. If you ARE doing the river trip, GET AN ONLINE LAOS VISA!!!! It'll save you two hours on crossing day!

The facilities. A lovely pool overlooking the Mekong, with a nice restaurant adjacent to the pool; a lively bar downstairs with pool table and staff let you synch your phone and play your music playlists. It was the perfect stay before crossing the border into Laos (rather than stay in Houay Xai, Laos, where the accommodation is more hostels than hotels - we’re at the age where we’re Prima Donna backpackers 😂). Hotel arranged transport in the morning to the Thai border crossing for 150baht per person. Would highly recommend.

We had a room with a balcony on the river which we loved, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean and a decent size. Breakfast was good, nice buffet. The location was great, walking distance to everything.

I think it's one of the best hotels with Mekong view. Very nice rooms with balcony nearby the river. In the morning you can watch local fishermans on their traditional boots. The breakfast is very rich but the main dish was cooked pretty long time. Anyway it's a very good and comfortable place. By the way, there are really plenty of teak trees on the hotel's premises. It was interesting to read about them due to every tre has a personal tag on it.

The hotel is right next to the Mekong river, and if you choose the right room you have a great view over the river. There is also a lovely footpath and bike trail along beside the river just outside the back gate (but beware: this gate is locked at 7 pm), and a few other eating options along near the river. Electric bikes are available to hire quite cheaply. The hotel itself is comfortable, with large rooms and friendly staff (though desk staff did not all have good English). There is an onsen, but we ran out of time to try it.

This is a really nice hotel that has quite a grand feel in a super location. It was the most comfortable bed we have slept in in SE Asia! The balcony had a lovely view and the shower was very good. We always appreciate a kettle and fridge, and they give you fresh drinking water each day. A lot of choice at breakfast in a wonderful open dining room with views of the sunrise over the mountains and river. Starts early enough to eat before being picked up for the river cruise. The pool had a super view too, and is long and was on the cooler side which we like as we like the swim rather than just dipping in. The free bikes are bone shakers but ok to have a quick tour to look at restaurants etc. We got there on quite a quiet night and think we missed some of the options on the riverfront as we went along the road. On the second night we ate in the restaurant which was ok, but limited for vegetarians. The walk or cycle along the river was fab and there are lots of cafes. We did hire the electric e-scooter bike type things which were alright but couldn't make it up the hill to the golden buddah with a heavier person, just about with a smaller person, so only any good for the main strip of Chiang Khong. Also mine didn't cut out as it was meant to and I bashed my knee so be careful! It says they hire motorbikes but when we asked they said they didn't and couldn't help us to book from a local place. We couldn't find anywhere to hire so gave up. Easy pick up from the front by our river trip company.

The location was superb for our needs. The staff were superb very helpful and always on hand. Although we left the hotel to explore the area we didn’t need to there was plenty to do in the hotel. We especially enjoyed the singer at dinner on our first evening. Most entertaining and a nice touch thank you.

Location was great overlooking the Mekong River as I was staying for 2 nights b4 crossing in Loas. The rooms are really clean, big & comfy, & staff are friendly offering a in house laundry service at good price. The swimming pool is lovely & there is access to a nice pedestrian/cycle pathway in each direction along the Mekong. If you are after a little luxury along Yr travels then this is probably up there in terms if that in Chiang Khong.
